Small yet inviting, our little Tap Room is the perfect spot in Maldon to enjoy Mighty Oak ales direct from the cask. Check out the range on our ‘Wall of Ale’ behind the bar – there’s quite a few to choose from as well as still ciders from Westons and Celtic Marches, bottled lagers, a fab range of wines from around the globe, soft drinks and snacks.
Most Sundays, tucked into the corner, you will find a local musician or acting group who will entertain you for a couple of hours.
Every other Tuesday evening there’s Trevor’s Quiz; you can test your knowledge and maybe win a cash prize.
Traditional pub games such as Shove Ha’penny and Shut the Box, cribbage are on hand, and we even have a Bagatelle Billiards table – this is an ancient game played with very short cues and you’ll need two tables pushed together to play – just ask a team member for the table and cue.
It was the rise of the Micro Pub that prompted us to open our Tap Room in Maldon back in 2015. Having found the perfect – yet tiny – shop we wanted to create a welcoming space for our customers to enjoy the ales, join in with a friendly conversation, and to relax and enjoy watching the world go by.
The Time Line, beautifully painted by our artist, Paul takes you through the Brewery’s journey from our first ever brew to present day – the line is so long now we have had to paint it across the ceiling.
Oh, and watch your head when you come in… the ceiling is rather low!
The Tap Room building dates back to the 15th Century and has a wealth of low beams to knock sense into all who fail to duck.
